Paid Leave: A Barrier to Pay Equity?

  • Moz 1100 2nd Avenue #500 Seattle, WA United States (map)

Ladies, you want equal pay? Get men to take Paid Leave!

The number one barrier to gender pay equity is lack of Paid Leave for all – women and men. Looking beyond the research, conversations with senior business leaders highlight often overlooked factors that limit women from achieving equal pay: When men don’t take leave, women get paid less. We know structural barriers hinder pay equity. Less appreciated are the cultural and societal forces that hold us back.

Join us for a conversation with Angela Romei, the Director of Paid Leave at Panorama, to learn more about why gender pay equity for all can only be achieved after there is Paid Leave for all. Angela will be joined by Denise Novosel, a senior talent leader at Nike where she recruits the best and brightest talent to work for Nike. Denise has known Angela for more than 10 years – both professionally and personally. As an expert on talent attraction and retention, Denise will sit down with Angela and ask thought-provoking questions to help us all better understand why paid leave is critical to closing the wage and salary gap.

Key takeaways include:

  • State of Paid Family and Medical Leave in the US
  • What executives are telling us about Paid Leave
  • Why men are needed for gender pay equity

Can men attend?

Sorry, not at this event. We do welcome cis women, trans women, and non-binary/gender nonconforming folks.

Can we bring our children?
We know finding childcare can be hard (and expensive!) so you're welcome to bring your kids. Feminism can never start too young.
