We are so excited to be hosting a panel of HR professionals answering questions you've always wanted to ask your HR person. We'll be discussing topics such as : what people don’t know about resumes, negotiating offers, and worker's legal rights. Panelists are: Manessa Lazare, Keneyá Edwards, Necii Jernigan, Sarah Buchanan and Ashley Olds (Full Bios below)

Ashley Olds is a HR professional by day that specializes in employee relations, training and development, and diversity and inclusion. Interestingly enough, her passion for HR was birthed out of her love for fashion. Ashley studied Fashion Retailing at the University of Alabama, but was unsure where that path would lead her. While interning at Saks Fifth Avenue she was given the task to train new employees, which she ended up loving! That gave her the push to pursue HR focused roles.


Ashley obtained her Master's in Human Resource Management from Argosy University and currently works for a healthcare company specializing in employee relations. She is also an active SHRM member.


As a former military brat, Ashley has never lived anywhere over 3 years to date, but Nashville has been home for almost 3 years. In her free time, Ashley volunteers with a local Girl Scout troop as an assistant troop leader, and serves on the planning committee for the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Brunch, family time, traveling, and lazy Sundays are her favorite things.

Sarah Buchanan loves iced coffee, sloths, and cheering others on to pursue a life of dream chasing and goal crushing. Working full time in human resources at a business consulting firm, partnering with Young Living to educate friends on non-toxic living, and recording her first EP all at the same time, Sarah is dedicated to living a life she is passionate about. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband, Kauland (cool name, right?) and pup, Lydia. On weekdays, you can find her dressed in business professional attire scanning through resumes, talking to candidates, and helping her employees make the most of their time at work. On the weekends, you’ll spot her at a local coffee shop likely wearing a beanie and journaling.

Manessa Lazare is a Human Resources Business Partner with seven years of progressive experience as an HR Professional. Her passion is providing HR solutions for her clients by providing strategic support for large employee populations in the medical and corporate environments through technology, compliance and people.


Manessa holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Manessa is an active member of many prominent HR organizations including the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) both on the national and local level and The National Association of African American’s in Human Resources (NAAAHR), the Miami Chapter.
Manessa enjoys spending time with her family, playing dodgeball, and dancing. Maness’s goal is to own her own HR Consulting company and start a podcast. where she shares her knowledge and passion for HR.

Necii Jernigan is originally from Massachusetts, but a Tennessee resident since 1983. Attended Belmont University and graduated with a bachelor's of science degree, Columbia State College with an Associate's degree in Nursing, and Grantham University with a Master's in Health Systems Management. A nursing professional with 22 years in the healthcare industry with 17 years in emergency services experience, 8 years in healthcare leadership, and 12 years in women's health. Previously employed at Tristar Centennial Medical Center as the Administrative Director of Women's Services.

Keneyá Edwards is an experienced Human Resources Business Partner and diversity leader who drives growth and results through a clear linkage between Cigna’s business strategy and effective human capital and talent strategy. Keneyá has over 5 years of strong HR experience, including project and event management, organizational development and design, executive presence, senior leadership development, talent evaluation and management, employee relations, compensation and rewards, diversity & inclusion, strategic sourcing, mentoring, innovative problem solving, data reporting and analysis, and business strategy and development.
