WHY I STARTED LADIES GET PAID
Women are over half this world's population yet it will take until 2095 for us to reach parity with men in leadership roles in our country. This enrages me. I simply cannot accept that women have such little say in the powerful decisions that affect all of our lives. The dismal disparity between genders in leadership roles is something that must and will be changed. The lack of diversity in leadership is sadly industry agnostic and is a worldwide epidemic. My mission is to rally women to recognize their value, band together, and advocate for themselves.
CAN WE REALLY CHANGE THE RATIO?
We can affect change by opening our eyes to the harsh reality that the feminist work of our mothers is far from finished. By building an inclusive community of supportive and diverse women. By creating a space where we can speak truthfully and without fear, the challenges we face as women. By championing transparency with regards to pay, negotiation, and work culture. By arming ourselves with tangible skills that allow us to take action.
I believe we can change the world, one raise at a time. As each each of us makes progress, we are all one step closer to the top. As the saying goes, "A rising tide raises all boats."
